Comiks
One comic · two people · take turns

You draw a panel. They draw the next one.

Take a photo, crop it, put words in everyone's mouth and send the panel to a friend. They continue the story. Panel by panel, the two of you make a comic neither of you could have planned.

  • No feed, no strangers

How it works

Three steps on your side. Then it is their move.

1

Snap and crop

Take a photo or pick one from your library and crop it into the panel.

2

Add speech bubbles

Drop in comic bubbles, type the lines and move them until the panel talks.

3

Pass it on

Send the panel to a connected friend. They continue the comic with the next part, then it is your turn again.

No feed. No likes. No strangers.

A comic in Comiks is between you and the people you invite. Send a link, they join from the browser or install the app, pick up your panel and reply. Every comic you make together stays in your library.

“I have no idea where this comic is going and that is the entire point.”

Questions

The things people ask before they start their first comic.

What is Comiks?

Comiks is a collaborative comic app for two people. You make one panel — a photo you crop, with speech bubbles on top — and send it to someone you are connected with. They make the next panel and send it back. The comic fills up a panel at a time until the grid is full.

Is Comiks free?

Yes. Comiks is free to use. There is no subscription, nothing to buy inside the app and no advertising.

Do I need to install the app?

To draw a panel, yes: cropping a photo and placing speech bubbles needs the camera, so that part lives in the iOS and Android app. In the browser you can accept an invite and read the comics you are part of.

Can I start a comic with someone who is not on Comiks yet?

Yes. Send them an invite link. The link shows your name and the first panel, and whoever opens it can sign in and continue the comic from there. Invite links expire after a while, so share them only with the person you meant to.

Who can see the comics we make?

Only the people in the comic. There is no public feed, no likes and no strangers. A finished comic stays between you and your partner unless you choose to share it.

What happens to the photos I use?

Only the image you pick and crop is uploaded, and it is stored in European object storage at OVH Cloud. Image addresses are not public: they are only served to a signed-in participant of that comic. The privacy policy has the details.

Who are you starting with?

Free, and the first panel takes about a minute.
